About B.I.G. Boosters Association

BIG Boosters girls prep for a garage sale.
B.I.G. Boosters is an association of proud local parents whose purpose is to help our gymnasts at Bay Island Gymnastics. We are a non-profit, team parent supported, 501(c)(3) organization. Bay Island Gymnastics is an Alameda and Oakland-based gymnastics program serving the Bay Area. We have a long history in our community; the original gym was in the historic Alameda Theatre.
Thousands of local children have been through BIG's recreational program and hundreds of girls have been through its competitive program. Our current team is one of the strongest ever. We are sending competitors to local, regional and state meets. Team members are disciplined, hard-working young women (typically ages 6 – 18) who are not afraid to challenge themselves.
Our association raises funds to defray the costs associated with gymnastics and helps create in-house scholarships and a hardship fund to assist families when money is tight. B.I.G. Boosters is a non-profit organization (Tax ID: 94-3033361).

Not only does Bay Island Gymnastics help young women become great gymnasts, but our gym is unique in that it encourages the girls to succeed beyond the gym. BIG team girls are actively involved in community service. In November, team members raised enough money to purchase 75 turkeys to donate to the Alameda Food Bank, as well as worked at the Food Bank assembling dinners for distribution.
In December the girls collected toys for the Toys for Tots Program. The girls have just concluded Operation School Supplies, wherein the girls collected school supplies for Alameda students who are unable to fill their supply lists.
