The BIG Team Holiday Potluck Party will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, December 17 at Bay Island Gymnastics.   Please sign up on the BIG bulletin board to bring pizza or a side dish (that feeds 10-12).  We will be having our annual cookie contest as well, so bake and bring your cookie creations.  Also, don't forget the contribution to the coaches' gifts. 

Congratulations to our Level 4 team gymnasts who competed at the NorCal State Championships on December 4 and 5 at Technique Gymnastics:  Avery Andrews, Grace Charron, Amanda Byers, Linnea Lynn, Nicole Sanchez, Mia Rossi, Alexis Cantley, Samantha Gable, Zuni Mosley-Moon, and Sarafina Bee-Martinelli.  Sarafina, Avery, Grace and Nicole placed in the top 5, all-around, in their sessions, and several gymnasts finished in the top five in individual events.  For BIG meets scores, click here.

Congratulations to our Level 5 gymnasts, all of whom competed at the Level 5 NorCal States Championships along with over 400 other gymnasts.  BIG took fifth place overall, and several BIG gymnasts placed in the top 3 all-around in their age group/sessions including Eden Moore (1), Mulan McNabb (2), Kimmy Carter (2), Emma Gable (3), and Claudia Lee (1), while several others placed in the top three in individual events including Lauren Pak (1-beam), Brian Medvecki (1-bars), Tori Wang (2-vault), Jasmine Zepeda (2-beam), and Erika Nabwe (2-Vault).  Congratulations gymnasts and the Level 5 coaches (Kirsten, Michael, Jessica).  Click here for BIG gymnasts' scores.

Our Level 4 and Level 5 gymnasts had another outstanding performance at the Zones Championship, held on November 7 at North Bay Athletic Association (NBAA) in Vallejo.  All of the Level 5 gymnasts qualified for the NorCal State Championships. 

BIG gymnasts starred at the Hollywood Invitational held on October 24 at North Bay Athletic Association (NBAA).  BIG's Level 4 and Level 5 teams took first place.  Over 400 gymnast competed over two days.  The following BIG gymnasts had first place finishes (all around) in their age group/sessions:  Emma Gable (top meet score), Mulan McNabb, Sarafina Bee-Martinelli, Lauren Pak, Grace Charron, Nicole Sanchez, and Haylee Nguyen.  Other top finishers include Eden Moore, Briana Medvecki, Jasmine Zepeda, Claudia Lee, Linnea Lynn, Mia Rossi, Sophie Bales, and Zuni Mosley-Moon.

BIG gymnasts had another strong showing at the Red Line 500 at Bay Aerials held on Sunday, October 10.  Our teams did well, and several gymnasts finished in the top 3 in their level/age group.  Congratulations to Mulan McNabb for taking first place (all around) with her highest personal best score 36.200!  Other BIG gymnasts who finished in the top three (all around) include:  Emma Gable, Amanda Byers, Sarafina Bee-Martinelli, Eden Moore, and Haylee Nguyen.   Congrats to all our gymnasts!

Our Level 4 and Level 5 teams took first place at the "Tumble In the Jungle" on September 26, hosted by Marin Elite Gymnastics at Redwood High.   All of our gymnasts did a fantastic job.  Kudos to Emma Gable who did a clean sweep, placing first in all events, and first all-around in her age group, with a meet-high score over 37.250.  Other first through third place finishers (all around) include:  Eden Moore, Grace Charron, Sarafina Bee-Martinelli, Mia Rossi, Clare Ryan, Claudia Lee, Briana Medvecki, Kimberly Carter, Lauren Pak, Amanda Byers, Avery Andrews, and Samantha Gable.   Scores are posted at here.    Congratulations gymnasts!!!

Bay Island Gymnastics' own competitive meet, the Flip Flop Luau, held September 12 was a big success for our gymnasts and other teams.  Congratulations to all of our gymnasts.  Eden Moore had the highest all-around score of all gymnasts (36.300).  First place through third place finishers, all around, include:  Sarafina Bee-Martinelli, Samantha Gable, Nicole Sanchez, Claudia Lee, Haylee Nguyen, Emma Gable, Briana Medvecki, Kimmy Carter, Eden Moore, and Sophie Bales.  For complete meet scores, go to MyMeetScores.com or the meet site here.

A big thank you to all of the parents, siblings, other family members, Optionals, and others who volunteered or contributed to make it a big success.  Most of all, thank you to our BIG coaches and staff who did a fantastic job.

Our Level 4 and 5 gymnasts took home first place at the "It's A Small World" meet held at Gymfinity Gymnastics in Livermore on September 12.

Sarafina Bee-Martnelli took first place all-around (Level 4, younger) with the highest meet score of 36.725 including first place finishes in bars, beam, and floor.  Congratulations Sarafina!   Other top finishers (1-3) include:  Emma Gable, Eden Moore, Mulan McNabb, Grace Charron, Briana Medvecki, Tori Wang, Victoria Morin, Samantha Gable, Lauren Pak, Amanda Byers, Nicole Sanchez, Clare Ryan, and Avery Andrews.  All of our girls contributed to a great kick-off to the meet season.  Complete meet scores can be found here.

Our Optionals team members made an impressive showing at the Novato Classic at Novato Gymnastics on March 7, 2010.   All six of our team members finished in the top five all around for their levels including: 1st place, Jocelyn Nguyen (Level 7, Sr. B), 2nd place, Ariel Moyal (Level 7, Jr. B) and Kassina Kim-Hayes (Level 7, Sr. B), 3rd place, Kaiya Levine (Level 8, Jr. B), 4th place, Katlin Nguyen (Level 7, Jr. B) and 5th place, Julia Howard (Level 7, Jr. B).  Great job ladies!  For BIG meets scores, click here.

Our Optionals team members once again showed their mettle by taking 2nd place (team) at the Black Tie Invitational at Edge Gymnastics in Dublin, California on Sunday February 21, 2010.  Congrats to all BIG team members, each of whom finished in the top five in or more events.  BIG members' scores can be found here, and posted on the BIG bulletin board.

Congratulations again to our awesome Optionals (Level 7 and 8) team members who took second place at the Mardi Gras Invitational held at North Bay Athletics Association (NBAA) in Vallejo, California (not New Orleans) on Saturday, February 13.   Kudos to Jocelyn Nguyen (1st place overall, Beam, and Floor) and all of our girls.  BIG members scores can be found here and posted on the BIG bulletin board.
